Statement of Faith

The Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith. The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all that we believe.

THE SCRIPTURES
The Holy Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, was written by men divinely inspired and is a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture of error for its matter. It reveals the principles by which God will judge us, and therefore is, and shall remain, the true center of Christian union and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions shall be tried. This Bible is preserved for us without error in the King James Authorized Version of 1611 A.D. Psalm 12:6,7119:89Isaiah 8:20I Thessalonians 2:135:21II Timothy 3:1516.

THE TRUE GOD

There is one, and only one, living and true God, an infinite, intelligent Spirit whose name is Jehovah, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth. He is inexpressibly glorious in holiness and worthy of all possible honor, confidence and love. In the unity of the Godhead, there are three persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit – equal in every divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. Exodus 15:11: Pslam 83:18Matthew 28:19Mark 12:30John 1:1-34:2410:30Ephesians 2:18I John 5:7.

DIETY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

The Lord Jesus Christ is the manifestation of God in the flesh, conceived by the Holy Ghost and born of the virgin Mary, true God and true man. Matt 1:18-21John 8:5810:30I Timothy 3:16

THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit of God is co-equal with God, the third member of the Trinity. His present ministries include magnifying the Lord Jesus Christ, convicting the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, comforting and teaching believers, and edifying the Body of Christ.  John 16:7-14Acts 5:1-4

MAN
Man was created in the image of God. Man sinned and thereby incurred spiritual and physical death. Without exception, all men are sinners and have need of the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. Genesis 1:262:7Romans 5:12-18I Corinthians 15:22

SALVATION
The Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. He ascended bodily into heaven. He is seated at the right hand of the Father and ever liveth to make intercession for all born again believers, thus making them eternally secure. He was, and is our substitutionary atonement for sin. Isaiah 53; Acts 4:12Romans 5:15-218:33-39II Corinthians 1:2122Ephesians 1:13I Timothy 2:5Hebrews 7:25

THE FREENESS OF SALVATION
Salvation is made free to all who believe the Gospel. Nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner on earth but his own voluntary rejection of the Gospel, which rejection involves him in an aggravated condemnation. John 3:195:40Romans 16:25-26; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

JUSTIFICATION
The great Gospel blessing, which Christ secures to such as believe in Him, is justification. Justification includes the pardon of sin and the promise of eternal life in principles of righteousness. It is bestowed not in consideration of any work of righteousness which we have done, but solely through faith in the Redeemer’s blood, by virtue of which His perfect righteousness is freely imputed to us of God. Justification brings us into a state of most blessed peace and favor with God. John 1:16Acts 13:39Romans 4:45:15.2.

SANCTIFICATION
Sanctification is the process by which, according to the will of God, we are made partakers of His holiness. It is a progressive work. It is begun in regeneration and it is carried on in the hearts of believers by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, the Sealer and Comforter, in the continual use of the appointed means- especially the Word of God, self-examination, self-denial, watchfulness and prayer. I Thessalonians 4:3I John 2:29

PERSONAL SEPARATION
The believer should be separated from the world while being present in the world. He should abstain from all appearances of evil as a testimony to the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 10:20I Thessalonians 5:22II Timothy 2:15-184: 1-3Titus 1:9-112:10-15.

THE RETURN OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
Prior to the coming period of tribulation described in Revelation chapters 6-18, the Lord Jesus Christ will return for His Church, which will be caught up to meet Him in the clouds. I Corinthians 15:51-58I Thessalonians 4:13-17. This “rapture” removes the Church before God’s wrath is poured out in the earth during the great tribulation. After the period of tribulation described in Revelation chapters 6-18, the Lord Jesus Christ will return to reign on earth for 1,000 years. This period of time is the millennial reign of Christ. Revelation chapters 19-20John 14:1-3Philippians 3:20.

DISPENSATIONS
The dispensational division of the Scriptures is a basis for study. Men are saved by grace in every dispensation from Genesis to Revelation, but the test of obedience is different in every dispensation. II Timothy 2:15

THE LOCAL CHURCH
We believe that the New Testament church is a local assembly of believers who have voluntarily joined themselves together. The Lord is doing His work in this world through local churches. The establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures. We believe in the autonomy of the local church free of any external authority or control. Christ is the only head of the church. We recognize the ordinances of baptism by immersion in water and the Lord’s Supper as a Scriptural means of testimony for local churches in this age. Matthew 16:1828:19-20Acts 2:4720:28Romans 16:5Ephesians 5:23.

MISSIONS
God has given missions to proclaim the Gospel to all nations so that there might be a great multitude from every nation, tribe, ethnic group, and language group who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Our ambassadorship must include an effort to win the lost locally and abroad. Matthew 28:19-20Mark 16:15Luke 24:46-48John 20:21Acts 1:8II Corinthians 5:20

BAPTISM AND THE LORD’S SUPPER
Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost to show forth in a solemn and beautiful emblem of our faith in the crucified, buried and risen Saviour with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life. The Lord’s Supper, which by the use of bread and new wine commemorates the dying love of Christ, is to be preceded always with solemn self-examination. Matthew 28:19Acts 2:41-428:36-39Romans 6:4-5I Corinthians 11:26-28.
